But the words ring in my head every day.
You didn't hear what he said, this time.
You didn't hear what he said.
But the words ring in my head every day.
You didn't hear what he said, this time.
Oh, But you questioned my choices, deny my need for safety, make me wonder if I'm going crazy.
Oooooo.
You didn't hear what he did.
But I see it in my head every day.
You didn't hear what he did, this time.
You didn't see what he did.
The words ring in my head every day.
You didn't see what he did.
This time.
But you question my choices, deny my need for safety, make me wonder if I'm going crazy.
Am I crazy?
You questioned my choices.
Deny my need for safety.
Make me wonder if I'm going crazy, you said.
Will you deny what I'm feeling?
Deny what I’m saying?
Make me wonder if I'm going crazy?
Oooooo.
Oooooo.
Our band is like named after a road.
And the road is special to both my family and to your family.
It's called Laplant road.
And, the way that it came together was, as children, we would go down to my grandfather's house, on LaPlant road, and play music with, like, lots of different generations.
And, I don't know, we we just kind of noticed each other and each other's, like, musical vibe and, decided to start playing.
So, bring me back.
To where I was.
When I had more than I lost before the.
When I had no more.
Walls to break down.
Well, you tear me up and you build me down Left dry and bare.
Couldn't tell who I was.
But I flew out the door, didn’t care what for.
Don’t mind calling me.
I won’t soon be back.
Well, my life back then, was an ancient pen.
Ooooooo.
Hold on to who you are.
Hold on to who you are.
Hold on to who you are.
Hold on to who you are.
Yeah, Common Truth, We wrote in the middle of the pandemic.
It seemed to be like a really divisive time.
And we were like, why is this divisive?
This shouldn't be.
There's a line, their eyes are open, but they cannot see.
And it's kind of how it felt with, like everybody was thinking they knew everything and that they could see the whole picture, and they were only seeing one little sliver.
And so to them, that was right.
And then to other people, it was so wrong.
It's like, you know, just trying to bring that together and have community and..... ya.
Some people think that it's a long way off.
Some people think it's a short trip home.
I'm the only one to say for sure.
That what they see is a common truth.
Their eyes are open, but they cannot see.
That what they glimpse is eternity.
And they close themselves to be part of community.
Oooooo.
Ooooo.
Oooooo.
But if we open ourselves to them.
Oh, we bear the same image.
And we open ourselves to be part of unity.
Oooooo.
Ooooo.
Oooo.
Since you’ve been gone, I can't see through my, tears.
Cause all of the tears.
They come quickly.
When I think of you.
Since you've been gone, I can't feel through my pain.
Cause all of the hurt and all of the loss.
Feels like it's too much.
Since you’ve been gone, I can't see through my eyes.
Cause all of those tears, They come quickly when I think of you.
And since you've been gone I can feel you.
Since you’ve been gone I can see you.
The world feels less cold when you're near me.
Here in my song.
Since you’ve been gone, I've been thinking ‘bout rain.
And oh, how it grows life to existence.
Though it's drear.
Since you’ve been gone I can feel you.
Since you’ve be gone, I can hear you.
The world feels less cold when you're here with me.
Here when I sing.
