Birchbark Canoe

Grant Goltz and Christy Hohman-Caine of Hackensack work alongside Jim Jones, a Leech Lake Band member of Cass Lake, to create a replica of a canoe documented from the 1860s. The group of scientists' passion for authenticity & sensitivity toward the cultural context of the canoe is explored. Follow them from the beginning, with freshly harvested from timber sale trees, to the completed craft.
